“White Christmas,” the Oscar-winning Christmas song, was the basis for this film. Two soldiers establish a musical partnership and team up with a singing sister act to save a ski lodge managed by their previous army commanding officer from closing down.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes, and Rachel McAdams feature in this American comedy-drama about an overbearing visitor (Parker) in the liberal Stone household, where Diane Keaton reigns supreme. With a lovely nasty streak, this is watchable Christmas fluff.
Christmas horror films are a distinct category (there will be more in the future), with the most wonderful time of year serving as the setting for some gruesome, terrifying events. The story of a warring family visited by the demonic spirit of Krampus, a kind of anti-Santa sent to punish the guilty, benefits from a brilliant cast (Toni Collette, Adam Scott, Allison Tolman, David Koechner) and some wonderfully innovative creature designs in this 2015 horror-comedy. Collette is the head of a family that isn’t in the mood for the holidays, and they end up being preyed upon by deadly visitors, including some gingerbread men who aren’t afraid to bite back.
5. Christmas Inheritance
Ellen, a New York socialite, is the darling of the tabloids and is best known for her public gaffes. However, before she inherits her father’s company, her father does not want her to project this image. As a result, he sends her to his little village to teach her about the principles of hard labor and helping others, in the hopes that she will grow into the big-hearted and big-minded person that her father desires.
6. The Knight Before Christmas
Prince charmings abound in Christmas stories, but it’s rare to stumble across one that features a 14th-century prince charming parachuted into the twenty-first century. Vanessa Hudgens returns in a film in which a witch sends a 14th-century knight to modern-day Ohio, where he falls for a disillusioned high school science teacher. Will the lost knight find his way back to his castle or his lady’s heart?
Dr. Seuss’ legendary Christmas-hating character, played by Jim Carrey, comes from his hovel one tragic year to spoil the holiday for the Whoville residents. Carrey is at his most Carrey-like in this scene, hamming it up beneath all the green fur.
Every year, we’re inundated with stories claiming that Die Hard is a Christmas movie (is anyone seriously contesting that at this point?), but that doesn’t change the fact that this film is still fantastic. Bruce Willis plays John McClane, a cop struggling to save his wife and other captives from German terrorists at a holiday party.
Probably the most unforgettable of the Vacation film series, this is mostly a film about a family’s misfortunes – but around Christmas! Despite the presence of his wife’s insane relative, his miserable job, and failing string lights, Chevy Chase plays the frustrated father who is eager to have a happy holiday.
10. Love Hard
Nina Dobrev portrays a love-struck journalist who takes a risk on a guy she finds on a dating app. When she travels to the East Coast to meet him and give him a surprise for the holidays, however, he isn’t who he claimed to be via text. Jimmy O. Yang plays the role of a leading man, and he never disappoints.
11. Single All the Way
Peter (Michael Urie) asks his friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to spend Christmas with him and act like that they’re a couple to avoid embarrassing relationship status questions throughout the holiday season. Jennifer Coolidge, who was recently seen in The White Lotus, also appears in the film. On December 2nd, Netflix will release Single All the Way.
Bit Christmas nostalgia reaches a fever pitch in HBO Max’s 8-Bit Christmas, which is now available. It is set in the 1980s and follows a 10-year-old boy as he searches for the most desired gift of the year, which happens to be the most recent system and video game. Neil Patrick Harris plays the lead role.
13. The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star
In the third edition of The Princess Switch franchise, Vanessa Hudgens returns. A stolen Christmas relic and the search for a mysterious jewel thief are central to the plot. Because one character is never enough, Hudgens portrays Margaret Delacourt, Duchess of Montenaro, Stacy Juliette De Novo Wyndham, Princess of Belgravia, and Lady Fiona Pembroke, Margaret’s cousin.
Kelly Rowland makes her third appearance on Lifetime in the Merry Liddle Christmas series. Rowland’s Jacquie is expecting a child with her husband Tyler this time (Thomas Cadrot). Meanwhile, Jacquie’s sisters are delving into the worlds of romance and adoption, making for a hectic holiday season. If you haven’t seen any of the Merry Liddle Christmas films, now is the time to do so!
15. Christmas in Harmony
Harmony (Riverdale’s Ashleigh Murray) is duped into auditioning for an ex-boyfriend who happens to be the Holiday Chorus director. During the holiday season, the ex-couples are forced to spend a lot of time together, and flames fly. Michelle Williams, of Destiny’s Child, makes a cameo in this new Hallmark film.
